If you were starting a new forum, at one point would you start placing advertising space...in terms of uniques and/or pageviews and what advertising method would you use?
Ive started with adbrite and clickbank, because I know adsense doesnt work so well on forums...well at least thats what ive heard.
At what point should i approach advertising networks and start selling banner impressions? and what ones take entertainment based sites. _________________ Shooru - Pop Culture, Music and Movie Forum

It's really up to you. IMO, you should have at least 5k posts before you start placing any ad. _________________ Travel News Online College Degree |

Personally I would show ads right from the start.
That way you won't upset any existing members if you ad them later on.
Just don't expect to earn anything in the start :p
But to sell advertising space (not with something like adsense) you'll have to get a good amount of traffic or have a high pagerank. |

That's a good point. You don't want to add 10 ads all of the sudden. You want to place ads so that existing members feel pretty comfortable. _________________ Travel News Online College Degree |

Placing adsense ads at first is alright, but you won't get any customers from really low stats. I usually wait until I have a lot of posts and members. (pagerank helps too) |

| Atleast 4k. Customers usually look at stats anyways (Uniques, hits, visitors, etc...) |
