I think paid links are OK, but it depends on the price and the traffic it'll bring (in terms of both quality and quantity).

I don't have big enough budget to buy so many links, but I've been thinking about getting paid links. I feel that it's one of selected ways to get one way links consistently.

I take it here we're talking about static paid links... what about PPC? eg. AdWords, Overture, etc. Do any of you do that?

I have used Overture before and you really have to know what you want to target. If you are not careful you can spend more money then you ever ment to.
I have used adsense and it is pretty good. I have used them for awhile and have had success using them.
