I think they're OK if they're relevant but I think the idea of reciprocal link is being totally abused now. Google need to figure out a new means of working out which sites out there are worthwhile, not just which are most able at exchanging links.

I think that they implemented some kind of filter, though the filter is working too strong in my opinion.

They are ok but you have to keep tabs on the linking site to make sure they dont block it or pur a nofollow thing into the link.

Yes, good point. I have heard of many instances of people adding nofollow tags... that's really underhand IMO.

Indeed that is underhanded, you are telling the person that you will add them to your site and they doing something like that is pretty disappointing.

Inly thing I don't like about it, is it can can create alot of junk on your site if you do to many. So many different banners and links can take away from your site I think.

The other thing I don't like about it is that it has brought about a new breed of spam - automated link exchange requests. I get tens of them a day...
