I not sure what all types are available, but a spell check would be nice. Maybe a help rating under the username, where users can rate how well the person has helped them.

Does any of other BBS have spell checker? For example, vB?

Not sure about vB, but SMF does. It is very nice feature. It uses pSpell module on Linux.

Highlight topics a user posted in. It's a VITAL mod. This way we can see where we didn't post ... I have it installed in all my phpBB forums and it's a good hack to have. Should you need assistance, let me know Smile

I just mentioned in another thread, but the following is the mod that I'm currently looking into.
Quote:

Classification: 52 Admin Tools

MOD Name: Anti-Spam ACP
Author: EXreaction
MOD Description: Prevents spam bots registering on your forum by removing fields you want in registration and profile form until users reach certain requirements. If spam bot is detected, it sends an email notification to you with username, IP address, and more.

MOD Version: 1.1.02
Installation Level: Intermediate
Installation Time: ~ 10 Minutes
Tested on phpBB Version: 2.0.21

Download File: Anti_Spam_ACP_v1.1.02a.zip
File Size: 36018 Bytes

http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=465600

I'll probably install the mod this weekend or early next week.

This is vital. Forum spam bots targeting phpBB powered boards are getting out of control.

I have installed that and it's quite OK. and I need to install some more security hacks on my phpBBs .. these bots have crossed any limits, that's for sure.

I highly recommend anti-Spam question mod. Very effective. Spam bots were all over in this forum before I installed the mod, but you rarely see any Spam post now.
