That makes sense. I never used any traffic exchange program, but I worked with a CPM network in the past; I might start doing that in near future. I was just wondering how the network keeps track of artificially created web traffic. I never did anything questionable, so I never received any warning or notification though.

Did you get banned from the advertising network?

I think CPM ads are much better than CPC, since so little people click on the ads anyways... Unless you camouflage the ad properly Wink

Are you asking me? I didn't have any problem. Also as I mentioned, I never used any traffic exchange program. I don't know what guidelines the network has now, but when I worked with the network, the network did not allow me to run ads on forums, so number of impressions were never really inflated.

Yeah, I get the same rules. No CPM ads on forums.
BUT, I [b]can[/n] put pop-under, dhtml and interstitial ads on forums since they are limited by time (one in 24 hours, etc).

If banner CPM ads were put on forums it would be very expensive to advertisers since most users scroll through pages in forums very quickly, without even taking a look at anything. Pop-under ads, dhtml ads and interstitial ads actually capture the viewer's attention, even if it's only a little while.

I didn't realize that. Interesting. I have no plan to use pop-under, dhtml or interstitial in any of my forums to make money, but I want to remember this.
