It seems that many members have a lot to say about various BBS (Bulletin Board System(software)), so I'm creating number of threads to discuss the topic in more detail. Here's a thread to discussion about Invision positives.

IPB is competes favourably to any other software when it comes to features.
It is less expensive than VB.
The admin panel is apparently much better than VB.
It has an unnoficial mod/addon called IPBSDK which allows you to integrate your website with your forums and pull pretty much any data out of your forum database. I have used it to integrate my forum member database with a custom coded cms to utilize forum permissions for page permissions etc. No other forum appears to have a tool such as this.
IPB Converge is currently in testing which will allow multiple applications to share the same member database for example several IPB boards that will automatically make you a member and log you into all of them from 1.
