Allowing members to use swear words?
Allowing members to post links to dodgy sites?
Create too many forums at the beginning? _________________ Travel News Online College Degree |

If I understand corectly you want to ask what are negative things with community building. Hehe one negative thing about it is that it is a lot more work than with content web sites. You have to participate in your forums every day which I find hard sometimes _________________ Soccer Forum

The only thing I can think of that you should not do is to be agressive and not nice towards you members. Also you should not let flame wars when they go over the limit (threats etc...) _________________ Soccer Forum

One of the no-nos is to be sure that you follow your own rules. Another is to let the forum just sit there.
And finially another is NOT to moderate it. I know that there are a few forums around that people do not moderate them at all and the SPAM that can be found on them is unreal. If you have a new community with a lot of SPAM it can make people decide not to visit at all. _________________ Webmaster Blog | Free forums | Free Hit Counter |

Don't give up.
Don't spam.
Don't let members spam.
Don't ever pass up a chance to post yourself. _________________ www.nerdcouncil.com - Forums are finally done!!! |

Don't start out with too many forums
Don't to be arrogant to people who have broken the rules
Don't sit there and expect everyone else to post. _________________ |

Don't let members spam, if you don't keep on top of spam levels the forum will be dead very quick. _________________ Gympie E-Business and community Forum |

No having a set of rules from the start. I had some huge problems because of this, so now I know my lesson.
Letting people start flame wars. Another issue. People like seeing some "blood", but too many altercations will destroy the community. _________________ Webmaster Tips & Tricks - Music forums - Movie forums |
