1. Always go with niche topic. General Forums are out
2. Do not use default skin of your forum software
3. You should post a lot yourself, even under different names(don't get yourself caught)

4. Keep creating new threads at the beginning.

5. Make number of posts by working on 1-on-1 post exchange, group post exchange, talking about yourselves or all of the above.

5.2. Paid posting is an option.

6. Do not create too many forums at the beginning.

1. go for the topics you like and can talk about. I don't care about a niche. I start a forum about something I love and I could talk for hours about.

2. work that script. Doesn't matter what you install. Change the theme until no one can recognize it, put mods in the forums, create a unique feel.

3. POST a lot. No one will do your job, so get there and post Wink

First point has to be the most important, though it is possible to have success with a topic you aren't familiar with.

Third point is hard for a lot of people and myself as well. I hate talking to myself.
