Signature links are obviously very helpful, but from experience, they can be annoying when someone signs up to your forum, makes one post in order to advertise their website, and then never show up again.
So as long as the forum admin is okay with you using a link in your signature, then by all means, do so because it's beneficial for page rank and indexing, but it'll also get you some new visitors. Like someone already said, if you're a quality poster they'll probably assume you'll have a quality site and they won't be reluctant to click _________________ Nutty Chipmunk Productions

That's called forum spam, and yes, they are quite troublesome. _________________ Travel News Online College Degree |

Whilst they may not help with SEO much, having a link on a busy-ish forum will increase your traffic. _________________ |

Hmmm. Well, I have a new site that I'm launching, and so far, I've mostly just linked to it in sigs. In the 5 days of this month so far, the sigs have generated the following traffic:
Aside from the whois & topsite referrer, that's all sig traffic. It's fairly paltry because most of the posting I've done has been today. Tomorrow's numbers should be about double, I guess.
So, sigs work. They bring people. But of course, you can see that I'm not exactly flooded with people. It's just a nice slow, steady trickle of traffic.

AWStats is free of charge, so as long as you have IT knowledge, you can install it and use it. _________________ Travel News Online College Degree |
