Yahoo is their main competitor but they are not close all. Right now nobody comes close beeing a threat to their dominance. _________________ Webmaster Community |

I tend to agree with LennyP. Microsoft has fought so hard to compete with Google and Yahoo for the past couple years they've lost the trust from users. No one really wanted to see MSN be changed into Windows Live search (which I also think is a horrible name).
Yahoo's been riding the back of Google's tail lately, though. Advertising is on the rise with Yahoo's service, but AdSense still rocks that market. Google keeps on announcing acquisitions of various online start-up companies and getting bigger each time they do so (YouTube, Writely, etc). There's no stopping them. _________________ The Teen Element - Teen Support, 24/7. Period. |

It was the biggest web-based office program alternative out there. Google acquired it and changed the name to Google Docs & Spreadsheets.

Interesting acquisition. Not sure how I missed that one... |
Have you seen their web-based spreadsheet application? It's pretty amazing for a web-based application. _________________ The Teen Element - Teen Support, 24/7. Period. |

No, I've not seen it. I can't really see why someone would want to use Web-based software for something like that, but maybe I'm just being slow on the uptake. _________________ Business Forums - Sport Forums - Travel Forums |

| Thanks, I'd never heard of Google Docs before either. And altyfc, I'm not sure I fully understand the potential of web-based software like this either. |

I THINK YAHOO ANS AOL ARE THE MAIN COMPETITORS OF GOOGLE.........
THE REASON BEING IS THAT THE USERS CAN GET THEIR REQUIRED SEARCHING RESULTS ON GOOGLE , BUT IN CASE IF THEY DON'T GET IT THAN THEY PREFER TRY THE SAME ON YAHOO OR AOL....
AND THE GOOGLE HOMEPAGE OPENS VERY QUICKLY BECAUSE ITS HOMEPAGE IS VERY SMALL IN SIZE THAN OTHERS.......... _________________ Website Design Company
