How important is using post exchange? Is it necessary? Is it totally meaningless? _________________ Online Education |

It can be important when you're first starting out. I've participated in a few and I've found that quite a lot of the people I exchange posts with stay at my forum and I stay at theirs without obligation. _________________ Website Reviewer - Reviewing the best sites on the internet. |

I have been exchanging posts with 2 people for some time, and I exchanged literally thousands of posts with one of them. I exchanged about 1000 posts with the other person. I did exchange posts with many other people, but what ended up happening was that we stopped posting after we were done with post exchange. In other words, I've never become a permanent member of any forum as a result of post exchange, nor would I predict that it would happen in the future. _________________ Travel News Online College Degree |

I always do. I try to get people who are actually into the subject at hand.
I'm usually not happy with the posts made though. They are usually "how old are you?" threads in the general chat forum. _________________ Music Forum

It would be great if there is some mutual understanding. As you said, posts like
"How old are you?"
"Where are you based?"
"How do you do?"
"What's your favorite movie?"
"What music are you listening to now?"
do not contribute. It's ok to have one of these posts occasionally, but filling out forum with these posts is silly. If there isn't mutual understanding, then there ought be some rules and guidelines. _________________ Travel News Online College Degree |
