I can't seem to figure out how to move threads in PHPBB. I would like to start my forum with a few general topics and then move them into more specfic topics when I reach the xxxx thread mark.

Also there has been a number of times that users have posted in the wrong thread by mistake.

If you login as admin, you should be able to see the link to move thread at the end of each thread.

It's really not a question of whether you want to be perceived as a newbie or not. It's really not a question of whether you want to be perceived savvy or not. It's simply a question of what is the best tool for you at that time, and phpBB does the job for me at this time.

phpBB is not for "noobs". Whilst I agree many web professionals turn away from phpBB forums, it definitely has some plus points - in fact, would a "noob" be comfortable installing the many modifications written for it? Would many people choose phpBB JUST for the modifications?

How to move threads: When you are in the forums you can select a "moderation" link in the bottom of the thread listing. Select the threads you want to move and the new forum for them to be placed.

As for those who diss phpBB after working A LOT with it, all my respect. Still, there are many who mock it without even installing a hack. Those people are using a paid script on a default theme and don't know anything about how it works. With due respect, they are not in the position to say anything. First learn to work on a script and then we'll talk Smile

... and only the admin and moderators can do this. If you're posting in your forum as a regular member, you probably want to make your account a moderator account. You can just make changes as you wish that way.

Try looking on google or something for some tutorials to help you get started. I'm sure on the phpBB website, there are some FAQs.

On each thread's ending, you'll find a set of 4 pics+. Check out their ALTs, one of them will link you to a page in which you can move a thread.
