Does anyone know of a good RSS injector for forums?

If you don't know what that is, it's basically a robot that posts RSS feeds on your forum as a topic.

Yes, but where could I get a script to put the news into posts on the forum? (SMF if at all possible).

It's an idea. I would like to have a section that gives reviews (from RSS) of all of new technology.

be careful how much info you pull in, i use this on a forum i run for my local community and had the local bbc news coming in to a forum, but it was too much, if anyone did reply to one it was quickly buried.

My solution was to add a admin only forum and have the news pile in there, then transfer the stories i thought people would respond to into the relevant forums on the site.

I agree more or less. You should control news feed threads manually to a large extent. If you just create even 2, 3 threads a day automatically, it'll go out of control before you know it.

Don't worry, I'll set a cron job to run the script two or three times a day, besides, I don't even think the feed can come up with as many articles as in your situation.

Uhh... that's not good. Do you think it would be better if I made a seperate read-only forum for the articles?

Here's my take and you can think about it; you don't have to agree with me.

Even members in a forum that has 40k posts and is pretty active do not reply to all news feed threads. News feed threads look the forum a bit ugly as a result in my opinion. If you're looking to set up a cron job to create news threads everyday, then you should focus on creating a very active forum first and foremost.

If you still want to set this up, then I recommend that you not set up a cron job. You should manually control number of news feed threads to create.
