Firefox. It's not a great software as so many people say, but tab is a great feature, and once you start using it, it's tough to live without.

Safer? Sure. Faster? Not exactly. IE does load pages faster generally speaking. Another thing is that I should really use browsers that many people use in order to ensure that my sites look all right in these popular browsers. This is one of reasons why I use Firefox.

The main thing I like about Firefox is you can pick and choose features by using plugins.

You don't know that most people use IE, 70% of the viewers in my site are usiing firefox, and the other 30% us everything else.

If you go on bigger forums, you can see their reviews about how fast or how popular it is. such as. dp.

The Firefox web browser rebounded in August from a small decline in market share the previous month, but the biggest gain was recorded by Netscape, a web-site analysis company said Monday.

FireFox, offered through the Mozilla Corp., rose a fifth of a point in market share in August to 8.27 percent from 8.07 percent in July, NetApplications said. Microsoft's IE, on the other hand, continued its slide in the market, dropping to 86.31 percent from 87.2 percent.

IE lost market share as Firefox, Apple Computer Inc.'s Safari; and America Online Inc.'s Netscape gained. Safari rose to 2.2 percent from 2.13 percent in July, while Netscape posted the biggest gain to 2.02 percent from 1.5 percent. ...

Internet Explorer has held more than 95 percent of the browser market since June 2002, and until June had remained steady with about 95.7 percent of the browser market, according to WebSideStory's measurements. Over the last month, however, its market share has slowly dropped from 95.73 percent on June 4 to 94.73 percent on July 6.

A loss of 1 percent of the market may not mean much to Microsoft, but it translates into a large growth, proportionately, in the number of users running Mozilla and Netscape-based browsers. Mozilla and Netscape's combined market share has increased by 26 percent, rising from 3.21 percent of the market in June to 4.05 percent in July, Johnston said.

(This implies that IE has 70 percent+ market share at least.)

"It takes a lot to get someone to change their browser. It's been years since anyone has been willing to do this in significant numbers," he said.

Also my wild guess is that you're not getting much traffic from SE, i.e., regular users. So, you don't have a good sample to begin with. You're probably getting traffic from SE bots, your friends, acquaintances, paid posters, post exchange posters, etc. who are likely to be using Firefox rather than IE.

I use Firefox. If it wasn't for the need to test sites in IE and the fact that a few developers still don't build for both, I wouldn't even have IE on my computer.

I use Firefox... I can't live without the plugins Smile. PR and Alexa Rank at the bottom of the page... it's just so convenient.

Firefox is safer, faster and more reliable. Part of this is because it isn't used as much as IE. However, the quoted information is from 2 years ago... Firefox has definitely become more popular since then.

Tabs, tabs, tabs. That's it. If you like it, you'd be Firefox user. If not, you'd probably stick to IE.
