Many of those who make a substantial amount of money online have been making sites for many years. They're way ahead of most of us. Is it too late to catch up with them?

Of course not. Just do your best on SEO and you're bound to at least make some Google money. Then (this is the hard part) use your business skills to advertise your site so your money makes you more money. That's the part people fail in.

Would you be kind to elaborate on this?

Sorry, I wasn't very clear. What I meant was that you can make a few dollars off of Ad-Sense, but what you do with that money is what makes or breaks your website. You need to spend that money in the exact right way in order to maximize website traffic, thus your money is spent so your site can be more successful and make you more money.

True, reinvestment in any circumstance is what determines your (financial) future. It's not about how much money you make today, this week or this month. It's about how much you take from it and how you use it.

I don't think it's too late, but I think it really, really helps to have got in early. I started in 1993 and I think that has helped me enormously. It would be much tougher if I was starting out now.

I do think you can start today and you can get to a point which you make ok income, BUT if you're just approaching this like everyone else, then obviously you won't catch up with those who started much earlier. I'm not suggesting to cheat or anything, but you need to have some ingenuity.

Yes, axactly. You need to be original, find a new niche, do something innovative... of course, if that were easy, everyone would be doing it... Smile

The people that should really excel are those that were around at the start but are still being ingenious even today.

I'm not sure how innovative we're being now. Right now, I'm just really trying to build on what we have by adding more and more content to our already established sites. I'm not really sure we're doing all that much that is new, but we still do pretty well.

It is never too late to make money online. You have to realize that those people have been doing it for years, and most haven't always made so much money. You have to have an idea, and an original one at that too. Online business is not as different from offine business as people believe, it is simply less understood

So long as you make a quality website, no matter how far behind in the game you are, you can always catch up to those who have been at it for years.

You may start off small, but if your website is good, the few people who have seen it will come back and then the traffic will slowly grow and you'll have the core visitors that come back daily, along with the new ones generated through search engines, link exchanges and more.

If you're selling a product, then it's the same deal. If the product is of high quality and the website is too, you'll eventually grow and catch up to the all the oldies out there Wink

It is nowhere near too late. This industry is still virtually in its infancy. I know people who have only been working with websites for 2 years that are making 5k per day.

At the same time, I know people who have been working with websites for years and have never become truly successful with it.

It is a matter of Effort, Research, and Investment. Never forget you need to spend some money at some point to truley maximize your long term profits.
