I also saw you didn't make your forum indexed by google.... still only one page indexed. It is a must that you make your forum SE friendly !!! That way some newbie can find you and register .... I did that with other webmaster forums
If you cannot make it with phpbb you should consider using some other forum software ... maybe punbb

Well you have to get some links that is true .... but even without them there must be more indexed pages since main page is there in google.com
Maybe because of your SEF mod there is duplicate content problem....you should check that out also ....

What about having the ads a different color. They seems to make the ads run together with the posts to me.

You don't want to fill out your forum with a bunch of ads at the very beginning. You want to build some content. Once you reach 1000 posts or so, you can probably start running ads.
