I'm from the UK and I've been a webmaster for 6 years and have run many, many various forums over the last 5 years. Everything I know is self-taught, it's been a slow process but I now pretty much consider myself an expert.

MyBB handles unlimited amounts of users - it's the server that restricts it!
http://www.msghelp.net/, which at the time of writing this message has 55493 members, is running on an old version of software.

Well it is not like they have thousands of active users at time.... Is there real proof that it can handle big amount of users at time ....
and not only server is important you should know that
I tested mybb for one week ... didn't find it stable enough ...

You should try it again, it's really stable... unless the server isn't configured correctly.

I don't really like the software, for how it looks like. My number one software is Vbulletin, then IPB, then SMF, then phpbb then everything else.
Everyone has their own opinion
