What's so great about this BBS? You must be able to get something really special, no?

That is a ridiculous sum to charge. I'm curious as to what it offers that vBulletin doesn't. Personally, I'm reasonablly happy with phpBB.

As I post in many forums powered by vB, I do think that vB works great. However, I am still not convinced that, if I spend $100 or $200 to get vB license, I'd be able to make $100 or $200 more.

And that really is what it's about. If you're going to pay for something, you want to see a return for your investment. WHat is it that vBulletin gives forum owners that phpBB doesn't, out of interest?

I have been unable to see the reason in purchasing a BBS also. I currently use Simple Machines Forum on my site.

It has alot of things you can customize like phpBB. I started with phpBB, but ended up with SMF.

I agree, it's a pretty nice looking BBS. Reasons why I have not converted to SMF are ...

1. Migration from phpBB can be cumbersome and time-consuming.

2. Great community support of phpBB ensures that I can rely on this for some time.

2.2. I don't know much about SMF's community support.

What makes vB different? If you use phpBB correctly, will you not succeed also?
